- Your performance was amazing. How do you feel right now?
I thought it was very good that I overcame obstacles in my life so I can be able to put the performance in today. And I’m glad that Japanese fans were happy, and having me smile for the first time this season.
(He had a big smile on his face while answering.)
- What were the tough things for you going through this season?
Like, mostly consistency, and I also had small personal problems but I got over them. It’s a thing about being an athlete, you have to overcome obstacles and it doesn’t matter what kind, you have to do it. Especially when figure skating… this is not only a great sport full of artistry, athleticism, but it’s also a way of life, to keep yourself happy, and to keep yourself motivated, and creating life skills and life goals. It’s really important to me.

- Do you have the Olympics on your mind?
Yes, absolutely. I competed for, in the United States for a while and hoping to get Olympic aspiration from the United States, but you know, in the United States it’s very tough, as me as an American I’m really proud of where I come from, but also I’m proud of the skills I obtained. Also in mind of the Olympics, joining the Philippines is one of my ways to hopefully represent the family’s home country, and also try to bring a good example to a lot of skaters who has Olympic aspirations in the Philippines as well, especially when those kids are doing a really good job now. And I’ve seen a lot of improvement over the years with them and they are doing really a good job right now.
- What is your strength right now, and what needs more improvement?
Well, all I want to do right now is get my components and technical skills higher. But especially my components because I love figure skating and there’s a reason why the sport is called “figure skating”, it’s about the artistry, how you cover the ice, also the athleticism from jumping, spinning, and footwork. I have appreciation for all components of the sport, and also the disciplines and… what was the other question again? (*Interpreter repeats the question.) Right now I like to keep improving my component score and my technical… (*Interpreter: Your strength?) Right now, my mindset. I want to keep myself disciplined, that’s what I’m here to do, keep myself disciplined, have respect from others and as for me, and you know, create a good foundation.
(He had a bit of a shy smile while answering this question.)

Performance Review
FS"Concerto de Quebec" @ 2013 4CC
Christopher landed all his jumps in the free program, including an amazing 3Lo-2T-2Lo combination from an Ina Bauer. His skating had elegance and lyrical foot work gave the program a beautiful flow.
As the music built up he expressed it with passion. Gorgeous spiral in the choreographic sequence.
After the performance he kneeled down and kissed the ice with joy. The Japanese audience responded with a big standing ovation.
